Can someone please explain why you can't just thread the wool you need through the needle and why the need to loop in it?

I think it is beautiful and unique when you use a different color thread to mend the hole.

I'm literally searching for a hole somewhere on a piece of clothing to cover with these beautiful leaves! 😄

Im a beginner and after several tries, i did it even though its not perfect. My takeaway is, its really hard on knit fabric that has some give to it. Its very important to mark the points with something round and to use that same object to hold the fabric taunt
